About Sandra

Hi! I’m a self-proclaimed carb fanatic (and coffee addict) living in a New York City suburb. I absolutely love food, especially carbs and always find myself dreaming about the next meal.

To me, food is not just something that we eat when we’re hungry and gives us nutrients. It tells a story about where it came from, the people who made it, how it has affected them and the people they know. It’s a glimpse into the lives of people living in different parts of the world and can help you appreciate their culture a little more.

Food has the ability to bring people together, no matter where you are. When I think about some of my happiest moments, they always involve food in some way, shape or form. It also makes a great excuse to get friends together!

Rice is life

Growing up in a Chinese household, my life revolved around carbs — mainly white rice. My mom made sure that every meal included some form of it. Why, you ask? Because it was the perfect filler and always paired well with whatever meat and veggies were on the menu.

Nowadays, I find myself unable to live without eating carbs. I tried paleo for a week and had major withdrawal. I’ve learned to accept my love affair with carbs but also eat them in moderation along with other healthy foods.

I am not ashamed to admit that I love them, especially rice and pasta. No amount of food shaming will ever make me stop eating them. They’re delicious and they make me happy. No wonder carbs are the key ingredient in so many comfort foods.

I’m always on the hunt for food that fuels my obsession, especially the ones made with love and has an interesting story behind it. This site is a collection of my favorite carb-filled dishes and recipes.
